Vacancy for Deputy Clerk – Cam Parish Council

Cam Parish Council is seeking to recruit a Deputy Clerk (Flexible 30-37 hours).

Cam Parish Council represents the whole parish of Cam and has approximately 3,800 houses. Cam is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, has been designated as a strategic site for this current local plan period and is growing fast due to the excellent links that the local train station has provided for commuters.

Candidates must be computer literate, good communication skills are essential, as are organisational skills and attention to detail. A laptop will be provided, as will training if required. CILCA qualification would be preferred or a keen aspiration to complete.

The role will be to primarily give support to the Clerk, oversee the management of 5 allotment sites, 3 community buildings and 3 play areas. Attendance would be required at various Parish Council meetings which are normally held on each Wednesday evening from 6.30pm (except August) and a small number of other extra-ordinary meetings as required. The main office hours of opening are normally 9.30 til 1 pm daily (Mon-Fri) but the additional out of hours work could be flexible as required. Salary will be calculated according to the National Joint Council Rates, dependent upon qualifications and experience, but will be within the range SCP 30-34 (£27,358 - £30,756 pro rata).
