This is a 16 acre site which is accessible for all to use. It has sports pitches which are regularly used by local teams and eventually we hope to be able to provide an all-weather pitch suitable for all sports. The Trim Trail is just off the access path and includes opportunities for jumping, climbing, hanging, chin-ups, push ups etc. We are currently looking at the possibility of installing some equipment for smaller children to use and this should be completed soon. The play wall and ball court were installed in 2009 and is proving to be popular.
There is a hard path around 3/4 of the perimetre and it is our intention to provide this path all the way around but as yet due to the cost of this surface we have been unable to complete this. Our dirt bike track is the latest addition and is currently being installed by a local group of enthusiasts. It is hoped that they will be able to provide 2 tracks, one with a higher level of challenge and one a little easier for the younger less experienced riders. The Outdoor gym has been extremely well received with regular uses of all ages. It is made up of 8 pieces of equipment designed to exercise all parts of the body safely in the outdoor environment. Although the equipment has been chosen and placed with the more mature members of our community in mind, the equipment is suitable for anyone over the age of 8 years old.
The Skatepark is one of the best in the county and attracts many skaters, boarders and BMXers from a wide area. The park has been extended and amended over the years and includes various jumps and ramps to entertain all.
The Climb Circle was provided in 2008 with the help of a National Lottery grant. It is approx 3 metres tall and provides a chance to broaden your climbing skills.
After a successful bid under the governments Playbuilder programme to refurbish and extend the play area at Hadley Road, the new park will see its official opening on the 14th July 2010 but is ready for all to use now. The new equipment has new additions including a giro spiral, pod swing, supernova, multiplay unit and embankment slide. Many other features such as balancing boulders, beams and a wild flower area enhance the area also. The original play equipment has been incorporated into the new area with the removal of the fencing surrounding it. There is also ample play space, a basket ball area with 2 nets and a suitable football area with 2 goals. We have provided benches and other seating areas and is well worth a visit!
This play area was updated with a variety of new equipment in 2008. It includes a selection of equipment for children from pre-school to around 12 years of age including a swing, multi activity unit, spring rockers, interactive panels and a very popular 2 level playhouse with slide. There is a very good size field to run around in and has football goals available for all to use.
