Official opening of Woodfield Play Park!

Woodfield play park in Cam is due to be officially opened on Friday 5 April with an Easter p-egg hunt, games and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Children will have to find pegs hidden around the newly upgraded play park and can then swap the pegs for eggs at the event which starts at 2pm.

There will also be football skills games and the chairman of Cam Parish Council, Brian Whatling, will be cutting a ribbon to declare the park off Hadley Road officially open.

The opening marks the end of a revamp which started with a public consultation held back in March 2017. Cam Parish Council drew up plans for the park's future based on views put forward at this consultation.

The equipment in the toddler area has been replaced and the area fenced in, new swings and a roundabout installed, a MUGA created with markings for basketball, netball and football and new turf and a wetpour kickabout laid in the football area.

Councillor Brian Whatling said the official opening was a celebration of the work done at the play park.

He added: "Woodfield play park is well-used by many local children and their families and we wanted to make sure the upgrade met their expectations. We hope plenty of people will attend the official opening and enjoy using the new equipment for many years to come."
