Christmas travel implications - Network Rail
Christmas travel implications
From Thursday 24 December to Sunday 27 December they will be replacing track and installing a signalling gantry next to the station, ahead of work to change the track layout at Bristol East Junction next summer. Alongside this they are also preparing for roof restoration by installing foundations and putting up scaffolding inside Bristol Temple Meads station, until the early hours of Monday 11 January 2021.
Friday 25 and Saturday 26 December
- There will be no train services operating on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
Sunday 27 December
- Buses replace trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa and between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway (including the Severn Beach line). Trains between London and Bristol Temple Meads will start/terminate at Bath Spa.
Monday 28 December to Sunday 10 January
- Scaffolding is being installed over Platforms 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Bristol Temple Meads for roof refurbishment work, closing these platforms until Sunday 10 January. As a result, services that would normally use Platforms 3 to 6 will use other platforms instead and trains in the Bristol area will run to an amended timetable.
