CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON 2024!

CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON 2024!

CAM'S Christmas lights are due to be switched on during a fantastic fun-filled community event on Saturday 30 November.

The lights in the trees around Noel Lee Way and along the High Street will be switched on just before 5pm after an afternoon of entertainment starting at 2pm. The countdown for the big switch-on will take place outside Cam Post Office.

Seasonal attractions include a fun-fair in the car park on Noel Lee Way and Father Christmas will be at Cam Methodist Church in an enchanting grotto organised by Hopton School House. Face painting fun will be happening at St Bartholomew's Church in the children's corner.

There will be mini-reindeer rides, giant street games and a festive treasure hunt. Seasonal music will be provided by the Dursley Male Voice Choir and also Rednock School Band. A Christmas dance troop will be performing and raising everyone's Christmas spirits!

There will be a host of delicious food on offer and an exciting Christmas Craft Market will be held in Cam Memorial Hall and along the High Street.

The Robin bookable community bus service will be operating during the Cam community light switch-on. Bookings must be made at least two-weeks in advance with a maximum group booking of seven people. More information can be found at https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/transport/the-robin/

The High Street will be closed from 12pm until 6pm for the lights switch-on on 30 November. This is to ensure everyone's safety both setting up, dismantling and during the community event. The High Street will be closed just after The China Chef takeaway to the roundabout by Tesco.

Manor Avenue will be the alternative route and traffic marshals will help residents and visitors and re-direct vehicles as needed. Heavy Goods Vehicles will be asked to use the A38 and B4066 for access to Cam.
