Stroud District Council is reviewing its current local plan and, in line with Government demands to address the housing shortage, has proposed sites across the county for new housing. A large-scale allocation on land at North West Cam has been identified along with some smaller sites as shown in the attached map .

Since the last article in the newsletter Stroud Valleys Project and its regular Thursday volunteer group have been busy with habitat management work including the start of the annual comfrey 'bash' (cutting back) which was scythed (less messy than a brush cutter), and the management of the newly planted hedgerow. CHRISTMAS has arrived in Cam, with Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh helping the chairman of Cam Parish Council, Brian Whatling, to switch on the lights.
Scores of people turned out to enjoy the switch-on with an afternoon of attractions, including a fun fair, climbing wall, horse and pony rides and craft stalls.
