Cam lights up for Christmas!
CHRISTMAS has arrived in Cam, with Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh helping the chairman of Cam Parish Council, Brian Whatling, to switch on the lights.
Scores of people turned out to enjoy the switch-on with an afternoon of attractions, including a fun fair, climbing wall, horse and pony rides and craft stalls.

Woodfield and Cam Green play parks to be temporarily closed for up-grading
TWO PLAY AREAS IN CAM TO BE CLOSED FOR UP-GRADING
WOODFIELD play park off Hadley Road in Cam is due to be temporarily closed next week to allow for the regeneration and up-grading of the equipment and surfacing.

Horse Chestnut tree to be removed from Hopton Green, Cam
AN ANCIENT horse chestnut tree is to be removed from Hopton Green in Cam after a combination of diseases has left it decaying and slowly dying.
The tree, which is thought to be approximately 120-years old, is suffering from leaf miners, leaf fungus and a bacterial infection called bleeding canker. It has advancing decay in its stem and crown bowl.

Card sales at Cam Parish Council offices raised an incredible £150.00 for diagnostic imaging charity Cobalt.
Generous callers to the council offices bought the charity's up-cycled birthday and Christmas cards throughout 2017.
The Cheltenham based charity invests in equipment, research and education to ensure everyone has access to the best medical imaging possible.

Tree Charter
More than one hundred people signed a tree charter at Cam Parish Council standing up for the UK's woodlands.
Led by the Woodland Trust, the Charter for Trees, Woods and People sets out how people and trees benefit each other and will guide policy and practice in tree protection in the UK.

Flytipping at Rackleaze - Threat to pets and wildlife
Cam Parish Council has recently paid for the clearance of the drainage ditch at Rackleaze Nature Reserve due to the illegal fly-tipping of green waste causing the blocking of the ditch¸ damaging the habitat¸ and attracting rats.
